GEOMETRIC MINIMALISM
ABSTRACT ART BEST DESCRIBES MY THREE SERIES, “ELEMENTAL, LOCOMOTION AND INDUSTRIAL.” IN THE ELEMENTAL SERIES, I USE THE SIMPLEST OF FORMS, LIGHT AND SHADOW, ALONG WITH THE USE OF A VIBRANT COLOUR PALLET AND ORDERLY CHAOS WHILE STILL CONVEYING A SENSE OF OVERALL STATIC UNITY. THE LOCOMOTION SERIES USES THE SAME GEOMETRIC FORMS AND SHAPES AS THE ELEMENTAL SERIES BUT INCORPORATES A SENSE OF MOTION, BRINGING A NEW DIMENSION OF TENSION TO THE STATIC. THE FEELING INDUCED BY ANGLING THE SHADED RECTANGLES GIVES THE IMPRESSION OF AN ERUPTING POWER BREAKING FORTH FROM THE ORDERED AND ORDINARY. INDUSTRIAL DESIGN IS ALSO BASED ON SIMPLE GEOMETRIC SHAPES THAT GIVE A RAW URBAN FEEL.
MINIMALISM ART
THE THEORY OF MINIMALISM STATES THAT WITHOUT THE DIVERTING PRESENCE OF COMPOSITION AND BY USING PLAIN, GEOMETRICAL, OR HIGHLY SIMPLIFIED CONFIGURATIONS, ONE CAN EXPERIENCE ALL THE MORE STRONGLY THE PURE QUALITIES OF COLOUR, FORM, AND SPACE. A GEOMETRIC ABSTRACTION IS A FORM OF ABSTRACT ART BASED ON USING GEOMETRIC FORMS SOMETIMES, THOUGH NOT ALWAYS, PLACED IN NON-ILLUSIONISTIC SPACE AND COMBINED INTO NON-REPRESENTATIONAL COMPOSITIONS.
ABSTRACT ART
ABSTRACT ART USES A VISUAL LANGUAGE OF FORM, COLOUR, AND LINE TO CREATE A COMPOSITION THAT MAY EXIST INDEPENDENTLY OF VISUAL REFERENCES IN THE WORLD.
